3 Simple Productivity Increasers
The best way to increase your productivity, getting more done in less time, is to focus on what you do well. Design your day so you only are doing the main thing or couple of things which you are expert at and form partnerships or hire employees to handle the rest. You can get bogged down in the minutiae of things, especially when you don't know how to do something and are flopping around in the dark wasting time. It's good to have a schedule of your daily activities to keep you focused. Say from 9 am - 10 am you are going to be writing articles. From 10:05 am -11:05 am you are going to make phone calls to a couple clients. Yes, I do recommend you take a little 5 minute break every hour so you'll stay fresh and energized. You plan the rest of your day like that. You'll find you are way more productive following this method. It's been coined "best and highest use" of your time. Jack Canfield talks a great deal about this in his book Success Principles. He studied many wealthy people and wanted to get to the root causes of what made and allowed them to be successful. What did they do that the average person doesn't? The main thing he found was action and delegation. They carefully considered their decisions for a day or 2 (set a deadline for when the decision must be made), made that decision, started acting to achieve whatever the goal was, and were slow to change their decision. Unsuccessful people rarely or slowly make decisions. Their decisions are indecisive and productivity suffers. Even after a decision has been made instead of starting to act and produce they procrastinate, continuing to second guess the decision. Don't let that happen to you. Discover how to make good decisions (based on the best info you have on hand at the time), do the actions it takes to achieve those decisions, and be slow to change. Then measure the results and adjust accordingly in order to get where you want to go.
